Who can benefit from health coaching?
Any person looking to improve their health, manage chronic conditions, achieve wellness goals, and make sustainable lifestyle changes.
What is holistic care?
Holistic care encompasses the mind, body, spirit, and social aspects of an individual. It is an approach that considers the whole person, not just specific symptoms or diseases. The goal of holistic care is to achieve balance in all aspects of an individual’s life. The six aims of holistic care are: a focus on the whole person; client-centered; emphasis on prevention and wellness; integrated care by combining conventional treatment with alternative therapies such as yoga, meditation; encouraging clients to take an active role in their own health; and collaboration with other healthcare professionals to address different aspects of the client’s health, as needed. The goal is to promote overall health and improve a client’s quality of life.
Are sessions virtual or in person?
Sessions can be either virtual through a secure video service or depending on location can be in your home or office. Please contact 781-281-9811 for additional information and to ensure you have the equipment/services needed for virtual visits.
Are sessions covered by insurance?

Private nursing visits are not covered by insurance.
How much does a session cost?
Each coaching session, which is up to 60 minutes in length, is $150.00. For more complex or longer sessions, prices will be slightly higher. This will be discussed during the initial free consultation and on your intake paperwork.
There is a 10% discount for healthcare professionals, first responders, veterans, and seniors.
What should I expect during my first session?
The first session will include a comprehensive health history including current medication review, discussion of symptoms and severity, health goals discussion, review of dietary intake and exercise habits. This is a great time to discuss any concerns or issues that you may have. Forms will be sent to you either electronically or by postal mail to be filled out prior to the first session. Your answers on the forms will be reviewed with you during the first session. For the best experience, come with an open mind.
Will I have homework or tasks between sessions?
Yes, you may be given specific actions, exercises, or journal prompts to complete between sessions to help track your progress and make sustainable changes.
How many sessions will I need?
Each individual is different. While some may need only 2-3 sessions, others may want to continue with weekly or bi-weekly visits for an extended time. It is tailored specifically to you.
Do I need a referral from my healthcare provider?
No. A referral is not necessary to become a client at Lotus Mind and Body.
Will my health coach discuss my care plan or sessions with my healthcare provider?
This will be determined on a case by case basis. If you would like your health coach to communicate and collaborate with your providers, a release of information will need to be signed by you. Your health coach is a RN and able to aid in communication between you and your providers. In some instances, when working on strategies toward your health goals we may need permission from your provider in order to protect your health. For example, if you have an extensive history related to heart health then we need to review any form of exercise with your provider to ensure the benefits outweigh the risks.
Is my information kept confidential?
Absolutely! We adhere to strict confidentiality guidelines to ensure your information and privacy are protected at all times. This is considered protected health information (or PHI). Though we do not accept insurance, we follow all guidelines set forth under HIPAA.
The only time we are required to break confidentiality is if you express thoughts or actions to harm yourself or others. This will be discussed further with you during your first session.
What should I do if I am having thoughts of harming myself or others?
The Crisis Text Line can be accessed by texting HOME to 741741.
Call or text 988 for the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.
Call 911 if you or a loved one are in immediate danger.
